The Parentesi was designed way back in 1971, but still looks fresh and modern today. It consists of a floor-to-ceiling steel cable, with the lamp head fixed to an adjustable metal tube which can travel up and down the cable.
The bend in the metal creates friction, allowing the lamp head to hold in place without any screws.
Lift the light to the top of the cable and use it to light your whole room, or pull it lower and use it as a spotlight. The cable can stretch to more than 4 meters, making it suitable for even high-ceilinged homes.
