Dice is a piece of furniture where a child will be happy and proud of it. The Japanese studio Torafu Architects designed a multi-purpose piece of furniture that can be used in three different ways depending on which way up it’s facing.
Dice is a convenient, challenging and versatile piece of furniture. Not only by the surprising shapes and colors, but also because it grows with the age of the child. This multi-purpose piece of furniture can be used in three different ways depending on which side it is rested.
Choose for the “desk for young children” mode and Dice functions as a desk with a built-in chair offering an intimate space like that of a cozy small room.
The surfaces that form supports for the desk can be used as shelves when the product is flipped over.
Dice has a practical storage unit for books and toys. It encourages kids to clean up their toys by putting them in the open spaces. To me the playful units remind me somewhat of climbing frames of my youth. Luckily our little ones don’t run the risk of falling off of these miniature playsets.
Fun, brightly colored rubber strips are placed on the rounded edges preventing floors from being scratched. These playful elements also protect the wood when the units are rolled over. Dice is very adaptable, easy to use, and just has a pretty and cute appearance that, with its gentleness, suits kids and their moms well.
Two types of plywood finish are available. The lighter version features blue rubber edging, while the darker version uses yellow.
