Usame, by Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, is an articulate and refined piece that combines the functions of a table and a magazine holder.
Its simple form appears basic at first glance, but has a variety of uses – the piece can be adapted for use as
a small coffee table, side table, or even as a bedside table with the magazine holder component
used as an accompanying storage ‘bucket’ for bedroom items.
The piece is constructed from PMMA, a transparent thermoplastic.
The durable nature of Poly(methyl methacrylate) means that it can be used outdoors, and as such is an excellent piece to keep handy for outdoor entertaining.
Urquiola’s designs are sought-after for their simple refinement, and Usame is one of a long line of furniture pieces that seek to combine sensible and simple utility with refined beauty.
The piece is available in transparent or colored transparent colors, with both styles embellished with a decorative floral theme. More info here.
